Ethical AI Use and Compliance

Facilitated by AnnMarie Marlier, Business Ethics Alliance

Fear regarding artificial intelligence (AI) use abounds as many do not understand what AI is capable of and what its limitations are. Additionally, guidelines and regulations for AI are a bit like Wild West laws – we know that there should be some absolutes, but clarity around legality, ethics, and fair use in a rapidly changing and competitive technology world are lacking.  Join us to explore the ethical uses of AI in organizations and how informed mindsets and appropriate regulation around AI use produce beneficial results for organizations.

By participating in this session, members will come away with a better understanding of the realities of AI use, ethical uses of AI, and trends for regulating AI use. Myths about what AI is, and is not, will be examined, and actual examples used to assess the ethical use of AI in organizations. Trends in AI regulation will also be shared.

Dr. AnnMarie Marlier serves as the Executive Director of the Business Ethics Alliance. AnnMarie earned her Ph.D. in Urban Education with a concentration in Adult, Continuing, and Higher Education and a Minor in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Her research focused on faculty development, leadership, and organizational studies.  She also earned a Master of Education with a concentration in Adult Education from Carroll University and a Bachelor of Arts from St. Norbert College, majoring in Communications/Media/Theater and English.
