As OD experts, how best can we support The Great Resignation?  Below are a sampling of questions that may be asked of our panel.  Plan to come with questions you have for the panel and share any insights or traction you have been part of for this retention endeavor.

Tom Nimps is the Director of Talent Acquisition at Boys Town.  With over 15 years of experience in Human Resource and Organization Development, Tom has experience in talent acquisition, employee engagement, team building, leadership development, performance coaching and aligning talent to strategy. He is passionate about ensuring people find work where they can use their skills and talents to feel engaged and fulfilled in their careers and support the needs of their organization. Tom has previously held positions in Human Resources at Oriental Trading Company and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska. In addition to his role, he has served on the Board of ODN and ICAN and is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Nebraska Omaha, where he teaches Behavioral Statistics and Organizational Psychology.  Tom holds a Master’s degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Tanisha Elem is the Talent Acquisition Manager for Oriental Trading Company, where she develops placement strategies to meet staffing needs. She leads the Operations and Corporate hiring teams.

 Prior to recruiting for Oriental Trading Company Tanisha held several positions in Human Resources at Mutual of Omaha.  As an HR Specialist, Tanisha was passionate about community outreach to recruit top talent for Mutual of Omaha partnering with Nebraska Workforce Development, Goodwill, Avenue Scholars and INROADS.  She was also responsible for designing, developing and coordinating the internship program.  Before she began recruiting, Tanisha worked in Strategic Staffing assisting with the reception of the front desk by creating a welcoming and positive experience for applicants, managers, employees and guest. She was also responsible for conducting the post-offer process for new hires. While working in Diversity she assisted with developing tools that enabled Diversity to report progress toward the Corporate Diversity and Inclusion strategic plan. She also served as the metrics liaison to HR, Business Units and other key data providers.

Specialties: Human Resources, Staffing, Recruiting, Sales, Financial Services, Nursing, Facilities, Aviation, Security, Claims, Customer Service, IT, Project Management, Finance, Marketing, Merchandising and Internship Program.

Laura Stannard is a Senior Recruiter at CHI Health.  Laura has 27 years of combined HR experience in recruiting, HR Business Partner, talent development and org development. She currently serves on the board with ODN.
