Engaging Remote Employees

People are our number one asset in the workplace and where they work matters when it comes to engaging them.  According to Gallup’s State of the American Workplace 2017 report, 43% of Americans work remotely.  In this session we’ll explore the types of remote employees and strategies to keep them engaged. 

In this interactive session, participants will identify how remote employee engagement is dependent on several factors of people and technology.  In addition, participants will leave with immediate action steps to engage remote employee.


Carla Zak:  Global Customer Operations Learning Business Partner, PayPal Inc.

Carla has been at PayPal, a global company, for 12 years.  From day one she started learning about remote employees and teams.  In her roles she’s reported to remote managers, led remote employees, part of global teams and worked from home.  Carla has been recognized in annual employee surveys for her Manager Effectiveness.  Currently she leads a team of four in two locations supporting three department’s learning needs in the US and Europe.  Carla also is part of the virtual Leadership Effectiveness team designing and facilitating leadership development.
