MindSet was developed to help leaders be better able to attract, build, retain, and motivate great employees; this session will focus on the key objective of retention. Dr. Hoogeveen will share some of the current data trends MindSet is seeing in its Culture Survey instrument that are associated with motivation and retention. He will also discuss several specific insights and techniques used by outstanding leaders to enhance employee retention – including techniques to engender pride, address conflict, enhance the personal growth of staff members, and protect high standards that include clear attitudinal and behavioral expectations.
Members will enhance their knowledge of common threats to employee retention, and learn steps that can be taken to mitigate the risk of losing outstanding employees.
Dr. Kim Hoogeveen
Dr. Kim Hoogeveen is the creator and owner of MindSet, an innovative and expansive leadership training, consultation, survey, and executive coaching company. Kim brings a unique background to MindSet.
Dr. Hoogeveen is a licensed psychologist, holding his doctorate from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. He is also the founding President & CEO of QLI, a remarkable specialized rehabilitation center for young adults who have been disabled as a result of brain injury. Under Dr. Hogeveen’s leadership from 1987-2011, QLI grew to become the largest specialized center of its kind in the nation, and Kim became widely recognized for having developed a distinct approach to leadership that engendered remarkable success at QLI – results that included terrific financial performance, staff turnover rates less than a quarter of the industry average, and a renowned workplace culture that has now FIVE TIMES been recognized as the #1 Best Place to Work in Omaha.
Now with his company, MindSet, Dr. Hoogeveen has worked with a wide array of clients as an organizational consultant to CEOs and executive teams, as an instructor for his unique MindSet Leadership Clinics, and as a keynote speaker. Having a long array of professional honors, in recognition of his wide-ranging professional accomplishments, Dr. Hoogeveen was the youngest individual ever inducted into the prestigious Ak-Sar-Ben Court of Honor for his professional accomplishments.
